Tam High Graduation Ceremony

Date: June 13, 2024

Location: Bruce Grant Field

Time: See times below for graduates and attendees to graduation

  • Mandatory Graduation Practice for All Seniors Walking  Participating in the Graduation Ceremony 
    Both rehearsals are mandatory for all seniors who have fulfilled their graduation requirements, are in good standing, and wish to participate in the graduation ceremony. 
  • Rehearsal will occur on the baseball field, and students should be on time. If we complete the practice early, students will be released early. 
  • Attendance will be taken at each rehearsal.
    • Rehearsal #1 = Tuesday, June 11, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm 
    • Rehearsal #2 = Wednesday, June 12, from 10:30 am -1:00 pm
  • Seniors, please dress appropriately, wear sunscreen, bring water, and wear a hat. 

Graduation Parking
Parking is limited: A few spaces are available in the Miller and Almonte Back parking lots. However, we strongly encourage families to carpool, use public transportation, and/or car share services. If you decide to drive, arrive early to avoid traffic congestion and avoid parking directly behind the bleachers, blocking and/or parking in private driveways. Handicap parking spots are designated only for cars with placards. First come, first serve. Elderly guests may be dropped off at the field house entrance. A shuttle will be available at the Almonte parking lot to escort the elderly and/or handicapped to the football field. 

Safety 
We will partner with the Mill Valley police department for additional support. Tam’s Link Crew members will also be throughout campus to assist guests with directions to access the field. It will be important for pedestrians to stay off the roads.
For Students:

General Graduation Information:

  1. Graduation will occur on June 13 at 3:00 PM on the football field. Students will arrive to Gus Gym dressed in cap and gowns by 2:00 PM. 

  2. Gates for guests will open at 1:45 PM. Please do not arrive early to line up. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. 

  3. Please close umbrellas for shade during the ceremony. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED (Service dogs are allowed if they are in a vest displaying they are a service dog). 

  4. The ceremony usually lasts approximately one and a half to two hours.

  5. Sensible shoes and clothing are encouraged. Be ready for sun, fog, wind, or rain! Avoid tall heels to protect both the field and your ankles.

  6. No reservations are necessary, and the number of guests each graduate may bring is unlimited. However, we ask that each group limit themselves to the 6 provided chairs. The extra guests may need to stand if you plan to bring more than 6 guests. Lawn chairs and blankets will not be permitted, and we ask that you do not move or rearrange the provided chairs. 

  7. If any student does not plan to participate in the graduation ceremony. Please let us know by emailing Sylvia Mathews at smathews@tamdistrict.org.

Graduation Photography

Please remain seated during the ceremony to avoid obstructing the views of your neighbors. We will have a professional photographer onsite to capture the event. You will receive an email two weeks before the graduation ceremony with information on accessing the images. Parents can register online before the ceremony. One less thing to do on this special day.




Important Instructions For Your Final Transcripts To Colleges Or Other Institutions
This year, the Tam High Counseling Office is partnering with Parchment to send final transcripts to our graduating seniors at colleges or other institutions. 
  • This service will be free to all graduating seniors. Please follow the steps listed below to access this service for free. 
  • ALL colleges (including 2-year colleges) REQUIRE a final, official transcript with year-ending grades and a graduation date for admittance. 
  • Your transcript will be final and include second-semester grades, adjusted GPAs, and a posted/verified graduation date by June 19. 
  • If you put in a request through Parchment between now and graduation, your transcript will be sent on or around June 19.
Accessing Parchment
  • A separate email has been sent today to the Seniors who still need to sign up for Parchment. It was sent on May 1 to the senior's Tam District email address. 
  • Use that link to create your account. 
  • The service will not be accessible if you don't use that link. 
  • If you have questions on whether you currently have a Parchment account, go to parchment.com to verify. 
  • When you are ready to place an order (where you want your final transcript sent), follow the steps in this video to request a transcript here
Here are some essential tips for completing this task.
  • Under "Set Delivery Destination," type in your college and select it. 
  • If you don't see your college, hit "Enter Your Own" at the bottom to enter an address or email to which the college wants it sent. 
  • Select electronic or mail for delivery. 
  • You can send your transcript to as many institutions as you wish.
Steps for students selecting not to go to college or university  
  • If you are not attending a college or university after graduating from Tam, please select "I'm sending to myself or another individual" and then select "I'm sending this order to myself." It is highly recommended that all students send a final transcript to themselves for future reference.
  • On the next page, under "Item Details," it will ask you, "When do you want this sent." Make sure to select "HOLD FOR GRADES" (NOT "send now"). Continue until you have given consent and hit the place order button.
  • Once you place your Parchment order, your transcript will be sent once final grades are posted and GPAs are run on or around June 19.

Prom: A Night to Remember

Date: Saturday, May 4th, 2024

Location: Academy of Sciences, San Francisco

Time: 8-11 pm 

Cost: $95 Early Purchase (March 25th - April 5th), $110 Regular Purchase (April 6th - April 25th). Guest passes are always $110.  Purchase through the Tam Webstore.

We are excited to announce that the much-anticipated Prom for the Class of 2024 will occur on May 4th, 2024, at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. This memorable evening will be filled with music, dancing, and cherished memories. More details regarding ticket sales and dress code will be provided closer to the event date.


Senior Awards Ceremony: Honoring Academic Excellence

Date: Wednesday, May 29, 2024

Location: Gus Gym

Time: 6-7:30 pm

Our Senior Awards Ceremony is a time-honored tradition where we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our graduating seniors. Join us on May 29th at Tam's Gus Gym as we recognize academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement among our graduating class.

 

Senior Finals

Date: June 3rd to June 7th

Schedule: Teachers will communicate the date and format for finals in class. 

Study and stay focused for this last soiree in your academic journey as a high school student. These finals are intentionally scheduled earlier than the regular finals for grades 9-11 to allow your teachers time to prepare final grades for seniors.


Senior Trip: Making Memories

Santa Cruz Boardwalk Mix-In Grad Parties Information
The event runs from 10 pm to 2 am. It includes Exclusive Ride Time, Arcade Free Play, Unlimited Soft Drinks, Food Bucks, Midnight Munchies, Disc Jockey Dance Party, Karaoke, Henna Artist, Airbrush Tattoos, and Caricaturist. All areas are exclusive to seniors and Chaperones and are monitored by Boardwalk security. 

Date: Friday, June 7th, 2024

Location: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (Busses from Tam - Round Trip)


*Students attending this trip must travel and return with the busses from and back to Tam. There are no exceptions. Students may not drive, be driven, or pick up from the Boardwalk. We appreciate the cooperation of all our families and students in meeting this requirement to attend this school-sponsored field trip. 


Time: Depart the Tam parking lot at 7 pm and return to the Tam parking lot at 6 am (6 hours round-trip approx. on a bus)

Cost: $40 - Tickets and permission slips will be available at the Tam Webstore .  

The Senior Trip is a fantastic opportunity for our students to bond and create lasting memories before they embark on their next journey. Stay tuned for more information about the destination and itinerary for this exciting adventure!

 

Senior Check-out day 

More information will follow. In preparation for senior check-out, we ask that seniors consider turning in unused textbooks and books to teachers or the library if they are no longer using them. 

 

PTSA  Sponsored - Tam High Graduation Practice Breakfast - This event is held before the mandatory graduation practice, and all seniors are invited to attend.

Seniors must attend both graduation practices to participate in the graduation ceremony. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with your assistant principal.

Senior Exit Survey - Mandatory
Every senior in the Tamalpais Union High District must complete the Senior Exit Survey found on Naviance. The survey is now available, and it is MANDATORY. Please complete the Tam Senior survey by  Friday, June 7th.

Step 1: Find the Naviance button in your Tam portal

Step 2: Once logged into Naviance (you are automatically logged in through your Tam account), go to the “About Me” option in the top right corner.

Step 3: Select “Surveys from Your School” underneath the Surveys header.

Step 4: Select the “Tam Senior Survey 2024”
