Senior Graduation Letter

 Dear Class of 2026 Families,

Graduation is upon us! After four years of hard work and countless memories, the finish line is in sight. We are very excited to celebrate this incredible milestone with you and our graduates, the Tamalpais High School Class of 2026.

There is a lot of important information in this letter. We ask that each family read it in its entirety and keep it as a resource for reference after graduating, as it contains other important information too.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s Assistant Principal or the specific event organizers.

Sincerely,

The Tam High Administrative Team

Tam High Graduation Ceremony

Date: June 11, 2026

Location: Bruce Grant Field, Tamalpais High School

Time: Ceremony 3:00 PM, Gates 1:45 PM

Graduation Parking

Parking is limited, even more so because of the construction on campus. We strongly encourage families to carpool, use public transportation, and/or car share services. If you decide to drive, arrive early to avoid traffic congestion and avoid parking directly behind the bleachers, blocking and/or parking in private driveways.

The campus has a limited number of designated parking spaces for people with valid disability placards. Senior Citizen guests may be dropped off at the Field House entrance for easier access. Shuttles will run from the Almonte (also called the Back Parking Lot) and Miller Avenue Parking lots to assist guests with disabilities and/or elderly guests in reaching the football field.

Safety

We will partner with the Mill Valley police department for additional support. Tam’s Link Crew members will also be throughout the campus to assist guests with directions to access the field. It will be important for pedestrians to stay off the roads.

General Graduation Information:

  1. Graduation will occur on June 11 at 3:00 PM on the football field. Students will arrive in the Gus Gym dressed in caps and gowns by 2:00 PM. DO NOT BE LATE!
  2. Gates for guests will open at 1:45 PM at the football field. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. Please close umbrellas for shade during the ceremony. Dogs are not allowed. (Service dogs are allowed if they are in a vest displaying their status as service dogs).
  4. The ceremony usually lasts two to two and a half hours.
  5. Sensible shoes and clothing are encouraged. Be ready for sun, fog, wind, or rain! Avoid tall heels to protect both the field and your ankles.
  6. No reservations are necessary, and the number of guests each graduate may bring is unlimited. However, we ask that each group limit itself to the six provided chairs. If you plan to bring more than six guests, the extra guests may need to stand. Lawn chairs and blankets will not be permitted, and we ask that you do not move or rearrange the provided chairs.
  7. We will designate exterior row ends for guests' companions using rollators or wheelchairs.
  8. If any student does not plan to participate in the graduation ceremony, please let us know by emailing Sylvia Mathews at smathews@tamdistrict.org.

Graduation Photography

Please remain seated during the ceremony to avoid obstructing the views of your neighbors. We will have a professional photographer on-site to capture the event. Parents can pre-register online before the ceremony at https://my.photoday.com/g/6123GY26. One less thing to do on this special day.

Transcripts

Essential Instructions for Your Final Transcripts to Colleges or Other Institutions—IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL SENIORS TO FOLLOW THE STEPS.

The Tam High Counseling Office partners with Parchment to send final transcripts to our graduating seniors at colleges or other institutions.

  • This service is free to all graduating seniors. Please follow the steps listed below to access it.
  • ALL colleges (including 2-year colleges) REQUIRE a final, official transcript with year-ending grades and a graduation date for admittance.
  • Your transcript will be final and include second-semester grades, adjusted GPAs, and a posted/verified graduation date by June 24.
  • If you put in a request through Parchment between now and graduation, Parchment will send your transcript on or around June 24.

Accessing Parchment

  • A separate email has been sent to the Seniors who still need to sign up for Parchment through your senior's Tam District email address. Please see the Registrar, Ms. Shapiro, in the Counseling Office if you have questions.
  • Use that link to create your account.
  • The service will not be accessible if you don't use that link.
  • If you have questions on whether you currently have a Parchment account, go to parchment.com to verify.
  • When you are ready to place an order (where you want your final transcript sent), follow the steps in this video to request a transcript here

Here are some essential tips for completing this task.

  • Under "Set Delivery Destination," type in your college and select it.
  • If you don't see your college, hit "Enter Your Own" at the bottom to enter an address or email to which the college wants it sent.
  • Select electronic or mail for delivery.
  • You can send your transcript to as many institutions as you wish.

Steps for students selecting not to go to college or university

  • If you are not attending a college or university after graduating from Tam, please select "I'm sending to myself or another individual" and then select "I'm sending this order to myself." We highly recommend that all students send their final transcript for future reference.
  • The next page, under "Item Details," will ask you, "When do you want this sent?" Make sure to select "HOLD FOR GRADES" (NOT "send now"). Continue until you have given consent and hit the place order button.
  • Once you place your Parchment order, your transcript will be sent once final grades are posted and GPAs are run on or around June 19.

FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT, GO TO SUPPORT.PARCHMENT.COM

Please note: The office is closed during the summer and will not be available to assist with late requests until the start of school.

If you have questions about non-parchment issues, contact Jane Shapiro at jshapiro@tamdistrict.org
